Attorney Bruce Wayne Batts is a native Floridian from Evinston, Marion County, Florida.  Being about 14 years old, one day his mother asked him to accompany her to an appointment at an attorney’s office.  That one visit became a defining moment in his life.  From that day forward, he decided one of his premier goals in life would be to become an attorney.  Attorney Batts went on to receive his high school diploma from North Marion High School, Sparr, Florida, in 1971 and then immediately pursued a marketing degree at Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, Florida, which he earned in 1977.

Subsequent to completing his undergraduate studies, he found employment in the private sector, working for a major retail corporation and later in corrections. With the thought of being an attorney still cemented in his mind, he became restless and realized he could only be satisfied if he reached his law degree goal.

Attorney Batts fasted for over 40 days, eating after 6 p.m. each day and petitioning God to bless him and make a way for him to attend the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, Florida. God answered Attorney Batts’ prayer, and he entered law school at the age of 30 in January 1984.

Attorney Batts obtained a Juris Doctor Degree in 1986 from the University of Florida, and upon graduating from law school, he was offered a position as a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office in Orlando, Florida.

After three years as a prosecutor, Attorney Batts’s legal career shifted as he became a criminal defense attorney, helping many who were caught up in the criminal justice system.

For the past 20 years, attorney Batts has worked strictly in the personal injury field, helping the victims of car accidents and shootings while also pursuing wrongful death claims on behalf of the relatives and loved ones of the deceased. Attorney Batts is also an ordained pastor and serves as senior pastor of Spoken Word Ministries International, Inc., in Orange Lake, Florida.
